Hi, I'm a regualr netball player and having fallen pregnant need to know if the rules state when I need to "take a break" or if it's up to me?!

Would be grateful for any advice?!

AENA's advice is 12 weeks for playing, 16 for umpiring, though it can vary from league to league.

Irrespective of the AENA guidelines, it should be remembered that the highest chance of a miscarriage is in the first 12 weeks (when you don't show).

I remember when the rule was first introduced in our league and that was because a player sox months pregnant was knocked over and she lost the baby (and the chance of having any more).

Different leagues have different rules. I umpired until I was 26 weeks - so best check with your local league.
