The only 'restriction' as such is the official netball rule book - if the team you're joining isn't affilated, its not bound by the rule book (only by predudice).

Yes there is no reason why you could not play in friendly games - against all-female opposition or mixed opposition - so long as the other participants agreed. And most ladies' teams I know actually welcome a chance to play against men (see Gordon's comments elsewhere about England) once they can see they really know how to play!

And if you can get your team to get another couple of guys on board there are many mixed competitions you can join in. Check out the mixed netball calendar at www.ucl.ac.uk/~uczcw11/mixedcal.htm for a start.
