Chow picked up Bruce at his home on the afternoon on July 20th. Linda was there and kissed him goodbye. Betty was a mile down the road on Beacon. I don't know if Bruce hit Raymond a few days before as some state, but it could or could not be true. I'd suspect Chow was dipping into the account to make payoffs to appease the Triads. Since Bruce would not, Chow could easily do so. Money talks. It's well known Bruce was going to take Chow to court and end their partnership in August. Lee was going to make films in the US, but still return to Hong Kong and work there as well.
Bruce was more valuable alive than dead, in regards to Chow making money. Face it, without Bruce's talents, there's no way a producer would be able to cash in and be as successful on his own. I'm not talking about his cut from the films he made with Bruce, but the continuing profits from making blockbuster movies that keep you afloat. Bruce was the leader. It all revolved around him. When Lee died, Chow lost a lot. Had Bruce lived, Chow would have become much richer until they split or remained together.
