C'mon guys its a time we have to celebrate out right as a nation, free from oppression, we didnt share blood or have to fight a war to gain independence

My country man, Stand proud and be happy to represent our mother land, she is young and blessed with so much resources and for people like you, our ambassadors overseas

You can make a difference to the way we want out country to be in the future

Any in everything we do, let God be our guide

We are planning a music concert back in our province Kerema with cultural celebrations and sports and church activities throughout

Its time to change, lets make a fresh start today

PNG 09 INDE NEWS

July 19 2009, 11:06 PM

First of all,
we, the PNG folks, here in hamilton are not sure whether we will be hosting the Inde, since most of the folks
are quite busy doing their own thing at the moment. I mean most folks are quite busy in their studies except
for a few who are'nt students who are either working or just visitors.

We will call a meeting this comming weekend and to finalise everything, In the mean time, please
do not draw any conclusions reagrding the Inde here in Hamilton.

We have hosted the Inde successfully in Hailton before and I'm sure we will do it again this year.
Just because we are'nt being hyped up, does not mean we wont, so ol WANTOKS please stay PUT and
watch out for the next posting on this board next Sunday.....We should have some good news.

Respect is another thing no one pointed out in these threads. The last inde celebration was held at a marae in Palmy.. there is NO alcohol allowed on marae premises.. but what happened?!?!?!.. bloody idiots go get drunk hiding behind a freaking building and causing fights and ****.. what the **** is wrong with you people?!?!.. That was VERY disapointing to see. Maoris dont go to png and disrespect the culture and piss on your sacred houses!! As a Papua new Guinean i was embarassed to be associated with those fellas!.. we are in another country, and our reputation is in the hands of every single papua new guinean here in this land. I will not say where these men were from however i did want to tell them to go back to their village! some of them didnt even speak english and just grunted a hello.

Clean up our acts people!!

lewa-girl,
you have made a note worthy point here...
i am a full blooded PNGean and will be a PNGean no matter where I live or what passport I'm on.
this reckless drinking, disrespect, and even gossip and rumour mongering within our own communities when we get together for such events just goes to show how dumb and stupid we are.
i know we can all go its not my problem and act individually but when someone asks you where you are from, are you gonna lie and say you are from Fiji or Africa or somewhere other than PNG? Yes, I know some do but if you wana be true to yourself and your country, atleast grow some brain.
