McCabe makes a great pass and it's 1-0.
Bad news for McCabe ....it was Recchi to whom he passed the puck too.
1-0 Philly

You don't pull your goalie after 6 goals in the playoffs. After 4, grand max, to preserve your chances. After 6, you can leave the other goalie in goal, who cares if it's 20-0? It's already an humiliation for the goalie. It's even worse to be on the bench and not be able to do anything to help. At 4-1, it was still possible to win.

NHL shift charts show one :45 second shift for Klee in the early second, ending just before the 3:00 mark- skating with Antipov, Nieuwendyk, Ponikarovsky, and Kaberle- followed by Kilger, Francis, Belak, McCabe (for Klee), and Kaberle staying on during the shift change.

Let's not forget: if Ponikarovski scores 6 goals tonight, the Leafs win this one. It ain't over until it's over. Well, unless Kidd is in goal.

Re: Philly/Tor

May 2 2004, 6:20 PM

It was a classic slash by Brashear, right on that open spot at the top of the glove. Domi skated by the box, let Brashear know what he thought of it, then skated by the Philly bench and did the same.

Nice story ESPN just told- remember the guy who fell into the penalty box awhile back, and had the fight with Domi? It's all been settled as far as the courts go, but on his own, not as part of the settlement, Domi gave the guy 4 tickets to the game last week. Said the two had a chuckle over the "fight". Classy move, for all the grief we fans give Domi.

Now Brashear and Marchment have a few words..........

Re: Philly/Tor

May 2 2004, 6:21 PM

A little odd tidbit.
Kappy started the game as a forward but with the injury to Malakhov , he had moved back to the D.
CBC guys think this may be a first in the NHL playoffs.
Domi is out of the game.
10 misconduct and a game misconduct.

Re: Philly/Tor

And now Domi gets into it, gets a penalty, and takes it to the point where he gets a game misconduct (only through words, not deeds). Must have said a bad word (or two).

Perhaps a first in the playoffs, TAK, but Kapanen already did that against us this season. They had five defensemen INCLUDING Kapanen (!!!!), who was playing on the first pairing, lol. Not seen since Fedorov with the Red Wings like two years ago.

And as the only non-Flyer fan...

May 3 2004, 1:08 PM

in a family loaded with them(like I haven't suffered enough this year)...I did NOT enjoy that.

Now Primeau is "officially " God.
