This World Cup thingy !
Now , I usually don't care for most international tourneys(glorified allstar games...............jr tourney is the only one I care about), but my hockey withdrawl should be reaching "panic state " when this thing starts .
A hockey fix is a hockey fix.
Mmmmmmmmmmm Hockey
Amen to that. Chris and I have been watching Classic Hockey on the NHL Network, and I watched a good bit of the Devils/Ducks series on the glass as well (or whatever they called it). It was kind of cool in the beginning, but the perspective was way too limited for me. I like to watch as much of the play as I can and watch things developing, but with the "on the glass" perspective, there were too many shots of big bootys gettin' in the way. Too disruptive and not enough of the whole play.
Today, we had the pleasure of watching the Devils beat the Pens 4-3 even though the Pens came back from a 3-1 deficit. We had to tolerate Bill Guerin in New Jersey, but it was worth it.

They are doing a series this week about comebacks. I thought it was odd that they used that game, because although the Pens did come back from a 3-1 deficit, they lost the game 4-3.
It was nice to watch it as a Devils fan, but I would think they'd use games like the Caps 6-5 victory over Ottawa where the comeback resulted in a win.
Frex, I'm taking it from your comments that the satellite company you're with doesn't offer the NHL Network? Sacrilege!!! You'll just have to move to Canada then, I'm sure Renee would be happy about that.

Could Canada handle anymore Caps fans living here ?
Cilla,
If the games are not shown down below the 49th.
You could fly out here and watch the games at my place(just bring ample amounts of donuts and cookies.........as my bribe).
Well, I know of one other Canadian Caps fan who lives in Edmonton. I "met" him on the Beckett boards. We never did trade anything, but we've talked by e-mail a couple of times.
There's also my eBay arch-enemy, canadiancapsfan, who I dislike for having deeper pockets that I do and beating me out on good Pettinger cards.
Renee
You live in Calgary.
Edmonton is your mortal enemy ..........they don't count .
I guess Can could handle a few more Cap fans.........but just a few !
No one is my mortal enemy. I'm too friendly for that.
*grins* Besides, I don't count as a Canadian, really. I'm just a permanent resident at this point. You may count me officially as a Canadian when I have my citizenship. I may never be a "total" Canadian though, because I will continue to want to visit places like Newfoundland that the rest of the nation teases relentlessly. I think it looks like a great place, but then, I love small, quiet areas with nice people. Two eBay dealers (who were brothers) that I used to talk with a lot in 2002 sent me photos of their areas, and I almost went up there to check it out. Of course, the lure of two different homes with thousands of hockey cards was a strong one too.
