Q: Hi, Dejan. The Capitals seem to at least want people to think they're not sold on Alexander Ovechkin. Do you think this is just posturing, hoping another team might offer them a significant package in exchange for the pick? Or do you think that there's some sincerity behind it? Could it be that Evgeni Malkin is more attractive to them?
Kent Hayden of Toronto
KOVACEVIC: I find it incredibly hard to believe that Washington would part with the pick, Kent, and it sounds like you do, too.
Really, I find it so hard to believe that I cannot even bring myself to mount some kind of discussion on the topic. I mean ... it would just make no sense. I cannot even envision somebody coming up with an offer that would make George McPhee turn his head. This is, by all accounts, an extraordinary prospect who could be the linchpin of the Capitals for many years to come. Who would Washington have to get to give that up? Ilya Kovalchuk? Rick Nash?
