It depends on his contract - it either has a buyout (most do) or not. He could just be writing off the season and staying in Europe. I would think he has some kind of an out though if the league gets back to hockey AND if he can come to terms with McPhee. But I think a lot of these guys are thinking a year in Europe is just fine at this point.
I know it's another humorous translation, but it looks like Zubrus can come back to NHL rightaway whenever the season starts. That was the reason why he signed with russian team, not with Swiss team.

Having won back in it three years, has got over to "Montreal" where has lead as much. Now here after four seasons in "Washington" I move in "Ladu".
