I guess this helps free up a roster spot for O'Donnell

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The Phoenix Coyotes sent defenseman Radoslav Suchy and a sixth-round pick in next year's amateur draft to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2005 draft.

Suchy has 12 goals and 63 points in 372 career games. He appeared in all 82 games for Phoenix last season, setting career highs with seven goals and 14 assists.

The Blue Jackets hope Suchy helps shore up a defense that allowed 238 goals last season, 24th among the 30 NHL teams.

``I'd love to have a pre-game skate tomorrow and be getting ready for Game 8,'' he said wistfully. ``It just makes me excited for training camp.''
- Shean Donovan, two days after losing Game 7 of the SCF
