Since Bettman and his lackeys have decided to kill the NHL ,I have decided to help you all out with your needed hockey fix.
On this weekend I witnessed a sad yet not unknown site for us Capaholics, as my nephew's team participated in a hockey tourney.
Going into the last game of the round robin , his team had to win by at least 2 goals to advance into the playoffs. His team was up 5-0 at the start of the third and then the Cappie disease kicked in and the other team scored four goals(the last one in the last minute of the game) and the game ended 5-4.
They tied for the best overall record (5-1), but lost out in goal differential.
They did win the consolation round with victories of 11-0 and 8-1.
My little hockey fix for ya all.

They are playing "Lazy" by Deep Purple on the radio.................YUMMY!

That's not so bad, TAK.  Chris and I saw a visiting Junior A team's bus as we were getting off ours, and I gave a sparkly wave to them....gotta reward the guys who ARE playing, eh?

Ms Renee
I do believe the Hitmen play on the tube tonight.
Shaw cable is showing the game.

It's the Kootney Ice(wearing Cappy style uni's) against the Hitmen(wearing a greyish uni............I am not a fan of these uni's).
Shultz is PLAYING!
Just mentioned that he was a Caps draftee.

Unfortunately, I don't have Shaw cable, I have satellite so I can get Centre Ice...not that it matters these days.

By the way, sorry that the outcome of your tournament went Cappie-style.  My earlier post was just in reference to how some of us are watching hockey way below the NHL level, but I forgot to put in the part about the outcome.  I need to stop working so hard!

I don't like those hideous 10th anniversary Hitmen jerseys either.  Luckily they're only wearing them for the first part of the season.  I need to warm up to Jeff Schultz too.  It's not that I *don't* like him, just that I liked Patrick Wellar and Mike Egener so much when all were still on the same team.

Shaw cable has been showing WHL games since the start of season.
Sorry that you don't get to see the games.

Those grey uni's were sad.
That is the best I can about them.

PS
Brule has looked yummy so far this year.

I say Yummy in the same context that one might describe a Keg steak .
You must have it !
You=The Caps
The Keg Steak = Brule.
