Bush, Kerry to drop first puck in Cleveland

The Cleveland Barons announced today that George W. Bush of Howeworth, Ohio, and John Kerry of Lorain, Ohio, will drop the ceremonial pucks when the Barons battle their North Division rival Hamilton Bulldogs on Election Day, Nov. 2, at 7:00 p.m. on the National City Rink in Gund Arena.

Bush, a principle supplier quality engineer at the Timken Company, was recently on The Late Show with David Letterman presenting the Top 10 Best Reasons Why It Is Good to Be Named George W. Bush. The father of three children will be attending the first professional hockey game of his life and says the first thing he would do if elected President of the United States would be to double everyone’s taxes to eliminate the federal deficit.

Kerry, an electrical designer at Nordson-Amherst Corporation, attended a Barons game last season and is looking forward to attending his first Barons game of the year. If elected President of the United States, Kerry would focus on health care issues in our country. Kerry loves Heinz ketchup.

“We are proud to welcome Mr. Bush and Mr. Kerry to our game against Hamilton on November 2nd,” stated Michael T. Lehr, Barons team president. “Both gentlemen are extremely busy and we appreciate them taking the time to recognize our team and our game on Election Day.”

To celebrate Election Day, the Barons are offering a special “Buy One, Get One Free” promotion for all seating options (with the exception of glass seats). The offer is only redeemable at the Gund Arena Box Office. In the 2-for-1 spirit, Aramark will distribute “Buy One, Get One Free” vouchers for small sodas and popcorn to every fan in attendance.

But the mascot...SlapSHARK?!
