Thought this was a good read. Check out the part about him walking away from clients (warning for Jagr fans, it's not very flattering):

Of course it isn't

Unless Meehan is a fluent Czech speaker (and from my understanding He Who Shall Not Be Named only English at that time was al swear words)..I smell a third party involved.

But then again he used to represent Mike Peca.....case closed.

Yes, I would think a 3rd party would have to have been involved as a translator. So does that mean Jagr didn't ask for those things, probably not.

I always find it highly ironic/hypocritical that you complain about any negative statements made about Jagr, yet piss all over anybody else you don't seem to like. Like the Peca example above.

I wasn't complaining

I just thought it was odd.And ESPN has a history of not getting all sides of the story.

And I wasn't attacking any Peca fans.I see other boards where people get pissed if you critique/badmouth/whatever certain people yet don't mind dumping on someone else (for example:Witt-you either love him or hate him). But don't worry about this anymore. This will be the last time I'll say anything about a player that has nothing to do with the Caps.

While I'm not one to defend ESPN generally, the story wasn't about Jagr, nor was it an ESPN story, per se. It was an interview with an NHL agent who, apparently, does not have a particularly favorable view of Jagr. And, not to speak for Bean or anyone else, but it's not a problem to comment on non-Caps players, but perhaps it's not always necessary to dismiss anyone or anything who criticizes a particular player you like (likewise, I don't like it when people dismiss anything positive about that or any other player).

Hey, I think Peca's a punk, but just because his old agent says something about Jagr, that you seem to think is probably false, doesn't mean I dismiss it as someone being bias because  the "world" is out to get Jagr.

Talk all you want about anyone you like, complain about any player you don't like, that's fine. Just stop playing the wilting flower when someone "bad mouths" your man.

I'll recall that it's possible to say here anything about any player (Cap, ex-Cap or non-Cap), but attacks between members are not allowed (see the "personal attacks" and "antagonistic comments" parts in our Code of Conduct).

About Jagr, he's not a Cap anymore but he's still Caps-related, just like Zednik, Oates, Bondra, etc...

We're not going to ask a huge Jagr fan not to talk about him anymore, I think.

I don't see where anyone said that they would not be able to talk about any player.

Willow herself ("This will be the last time I'll say anything about a player that has nothing to do with the Caps"). Since almost everytime she mentions Jagr she gets a nasty comment, she felt (I think) that any comment about Jagr, especially from her, was unwelcome.

It's possible to say I hate Jagr, I love Jagr, I don't care about Jagr, etc... It's not possible to say "I don't like the way you defend your dear little Jagr" because it's a personal attack.

Marc, if you see that as a personal attack, then do your job.

Willow, if you want to talk about Jagr or anybody, go ahead. I don't think anyone that is left here "hates" Jagr the way you perceive because of people on the official boards or elsewhere. I just always read and perceive your posts as being martyr-like every time you or anyone else mentions him.

So what? It's her right to be/act like that. Let's respect everyone's difference. I don't ask everyone to love everyone. Let's be polite, that is all.

I'm not going to do anything. I only wanted to recall that we have a code of conduct.

Yes, it's her right to act like that, and it's my right to not like to read it, which I don't most of the time, for that exact reason. I just don't see the reason to have to be that way, of all places, these boards.
