Okay, so before today they had Brashear, Primeau, Roenick, Gagne and Desjardins.  Bad enough, but it was an environment that most teams might be able to come out of the encounter alive.

Now, we add Derian Hatcher (who I still think the Caps should have gone after), Mike Rathje and Chris Therien.  Now team walk into the Wachovia centre and start crying for their mommy.  Then their gaze turns away from Roenick's face to the rest of the team, and it's shorts changing time.

They needed to bolster their defense because they know that now we have Ovechkin's fatal snapshot.

They got uglier, that is all (yes, there was still a slight margin).

Very typical Clarke . . . he loads up on centers, has no depth at wing, and thinks goalies are a sub-human specie of hockey player.
