Game on. Kozlov wins the first faceoff against Halpern.
Kovalchuk... saved by Kolzig.
Pettinger takes a good shot, stopped by Dunham.

After Ovechkin early in the period (2:31), then Hnidy (9:51), Sutherby gets penalized for boarding someone face to the glass (18:39).
Short-handed chance for Halpern! He's hooked by Modry and it's now 4-on-4 (19:19).
Bondra to the box (19:59). We'll have an interesting PP when the second period starts: 4-on-3 for 0:39, then 5-on-3 for 0:40 and 5-on-4 for 0:40.

Before being recalled by the Caps...
Laich was 6-4-10 in 7 games with the Hershey Bears
Fleischmann was 4-9-13 in 10 games
Klepis was 1-6-7 in 10 games
Even if he's probably not in our long-term plans, I think Mink (8-4-12 in 11 games) would deserve to be recalled.

We gets nothing from that PP... except a goal by Bondra soon after. 1-0 Atlanta.

Wow! Muir (from Morrisonn) and Klepis (from Biron and Willsie) scored in the span of 46 seconds while I was busy doing something else! 2-1 Caps.
Muir was just out from the box when he scored.
Biron to the sin bin, now.

Muir penalized twice for puck over glass... both penalties killed.
Aubin to the box... no score. Still 2-1 Caps.

WTF? No goal, and now Holik, 2-2!
Anyway, we only win games on a 3-2 score, so this one's still for us. Go, Caps!

2:08 left in the third.
My guess: Ovechkin in OT, or we win the shootout.

I should have stopped by earlier (left after the 1st tonight, lots of work tomorrow)- Klepis looked very good to me, was active every shift he took. Fleishman I didn't see as much, until I watched the 3rd on tv- he seems good on the puck, hard worker.
I, like, like Laich. Eminger, too- the guy could have had 3 goals himself, tonight, with a bounce or two going his way.
Good effort by the all boys tonight; and, yes, I turned off the channel when the game went to shootout (and watched another "Charade" with just as good an ending).

Klepis looked a bit tentative early, but the goal did wonders (as one might expect) for his confidence. I thought Fleischmann had a fine game. He very nearly had his first as well, but for an excellent save by Dunham on a redirct in close. Fleischmann also seemed to have a sense for how the play was unfolding; he had a few very nice, crisp passes to breaking teammates in the offensive zone as well. ___________
