I guess Belfour will start for the Leafs, but he has average numbers, very close to those of Kolzig, but with better defensemen in front of him. Hopefully, our players will believe in their chances again.

Of the 15 penalties so far (Caps 10- leafs 5), only 4 have not been hooking, holding, tripping, or interference. And they've missed a few of those, as well. Ugh.

NHL stats is missing the last 16:00 of the 1st period (at least in the shift charts)- don't believe all the stats tonight. The leafs only have 4 hits so far.... yeah, right...

At least they played to the end; a break either way, and it could have been 6-4 Caps.
I'll take that effort from this team (except they have GOT to stay out of the box.....).

Not a bad game, after all. Second time only that we score more than three goals. Ovechkin on pace for 65 goals.

They didn't give up, and that's a good sign (at least, to me it is).
NHL is slowly recovering those 1st period stats- they have the Caps' first 10:00 now, in the shift charts, the Leafs' first 4:00. Hopefully, they'll get it done overnight, and we can mine the stats for our little nuggets of hope tomorrow.
