Here's an oddity.
the Blue Jackets are on pace to have the fewest goals scored by an NHL team in a season for the past 50 years.

I thought the game was in Tampa Bay and this afternoon I almost drove up thereLOL. Well Next Thursday is the makeup game with the Panthers so that will have to be soon enough.

Cassels listed as "hot" on forecaster.ca.

Since being a healthy scratch for 5 games, he has 6 points in 5 games, including this one.

Nov. 15: 0-2-2
Nov. 17: 1-1-2
Nov. 19: 0-0-0
Nov. 22: 0-1-1
Nov. 23: 1-0-1 (after one period)

Looks like he has understood Hanlon's message.

(For the record, he was 1-2-3 in our first 5 games, then scoreless in the following 7 games.)

I was against the Caps signing Cassels and I still do not understand why they signed him.

Joe Thornton's second assist has just moved him ahead of the immortal Jean Ratelle into 7th place for alltime Bruin scoring.

( the announcers said ponit list , but I kinda think it might be the assist list....maybe I am wrong)

I left end 1st, figuring I'd seen the last 12:00 of good hockey from the Caps- the first 8:00, it was like both teams thought it was getaway day.....

but the Caps came to play, and things picked up around the 8-9 minute mark, by both teams- good forechecking, good moves, good kills by the Caps' PK units, and it was 1-0 as I left.

Went to the Dewars' bar, saw some friends and wished them a happy Thanksgiving, and left MCI to..... light sleet. By the time I got to Metro, and made it to Ballston, it was full fledged snow (not enough to stick, but enough to convince anyone that winter is soon upon us, if not here).

Looks like TB has made a game of it, coming back from 3-0 down; I'll have to check the stats to see what I missed. Working too hard, and too long, to stay for a full game, and glad they've switched Sunday's start time to 4:00 from 3:00- I'll get in a full day at the office, before heading out for the game.

TSN guys actually had the gall to say that these two teams are "hated"(sp?) rivals !

Strange, because Ovechkin doesn't have any shot on goal (if we don't count his goal in the shootout) on the stats sheet. Only one missed shot (end of first) and five hits.

Boyle's first goal: if Crosby had done the same thing to get that pass and score, it would have been qualified as a gretzkyesque goal by all the media, LOL!

DiMaio's goal: this is ridiculous; goals like that should not count... pathetic... that's not hockey.

Boyle's second goal: good shot by Andreychuk, nice shot on the rebound by Boyle, but I hate to see guys sprawled in the crease like that (DiMaio).

The Lightning's three goals were scored against the Heward-Muir pairing. Not their fault, though, I think.

We were severely outshot (42-20). Kolzig had a great game, and was named the FIRST STAR: 39/42, 92.9%.

SHOOTOUT:

Lecavalier... stopped.

OVECHKIN... SCORES. 1-0 Caps.

Richards... scores. 1-1.

PETTINGER... goalpost!

Fedotenko... wide.

WILLSIE... denied.

Afanasenkov... stopped by Kolzig.

HALPERN... denied.

Prospal... scores. 2-1 Tampa.

FLEISCHMANN (why not Clark, or Clymer, or Sutherby, or Cassels?)... stopped by Grahame (with his hip?)... Tampa wins.
