Pre-game, JB/CL touting Witt's play(s) against the Kings. Now, touting AO (as if that's necessary any more). Now, they run down the special teams.... not much here, for the Caps.
Next, the Thornton trade- they seem to think the Sharks have awakened.
Both saying the Clymer/Bradley/Sutherby line have to do the job tonight.
Olie with a sharp glove very early on. watching the comcast feed, but on channel 50 (I think)- the lighting is terrible, it's very hard to follow the puck. Mucho "glare" from the ice.
Back to even strength, no harm done- and the boys are still hitting tonight (Muir looks strong).... over 11:00 into it, and they look pretty even so far.
Yeah, Thornton got behind the net- Witt had his man, but Eminger got pinched between Olie and I think it was Pettinger.... Em went to Olie's left side, and JT fed a blazer right where he vacated into the open slot. Cheechoo came in, met it with speed, and it was all over but the goal horn.
Yes- JT comes down the left wall, and CL says Majesky got caught flatfooted, but I'd think it was still that knee- he couldn't turn quite fast enough. Once past him, Thornton just angles toward the crease, gets Olie to commit, and...... 2-0. Easy as pie.
Interview was GMGM- spoke of the D, praised Eminger/Morrisonn, mentioned Pokulok's making the Canadian Jr. team, and when asked by JB if we might see Fehr any time soon, said "We might...." and lauded Fehr's scoring skills so far at Hershey.
Just watched the highlights from the Sabres-Penguins game. Looks like it was a very intense game. The Pens tied the game three times and only lost in overtime (Drury on the rebound after a good save by Fleury, although there's no rebound on a good save, normally ). On the Pens' third goal, Crosby gets the puck back, makes a nice move, passes the puck to Lemieux who takes a bad shot, then a worse one on the rebound... the puck ends up miraculously on the skate of Palffy, who sends it quickly into the net from very close.
