Umberger Forsberg Knuble Savage Richards Kapanen Brashear Handzus Radivojevic Eager Carter Sim
Johnsson Hatcher Rathje Therien Meyer Seidenberg
Niittymaki (Storr)
Still a decent team, although Primeau, Stevenson, Pitkanen, Desjardins and Esche are on the IR.

Forsberg scores late on the Flyers' second power play. It's his 22nd PP point of the season! 1-0 Philadelphia.
***
Meanwhile, Jagr scored his 25th goal and 60th point of the season, to tie the Pens-Rangers game.

OVECHKIN SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORES!!!! ON THE PP!
1-1. That was our 3rd PP, and I almost "saw" it coming, LOL!
Assist: Heward.
***
ZUBRUS!!!! At even strength, from Ovechkin. 2-1 Caps!

Biron's shift chart is funny: he doesn't play for six minutes, then he spends two or even three minutes on the ice, most of the time on the PP. It's in the middle of one of those long shifts that he let Kapanen score that shortie.
Double minor to Zubrus. Go, PK!

Second period: Zubrus leaves the box after 16 seconds of play, but Willsie gets called for slashing two minutes later. Carter scores quickly on the ensuing power play. 3-2 Flyers.

Steckel was having a good game. Big guy, good with the puck, looks faster than I expected- he almost scored the first goal for the Caps, and had some really effective shifts.
All the events marked with an asterisk on the play-by-play page are in favor of the Caps, so far, since the big scoring chances for the Flyers mean big saves by Kolzig:

Ovechkin is 23-21-44 in 36 games. Crosby, who scored in overtime tonight, also had a two-point game and is 19-23-42 in 37 games, which is mighty impressive for an 18-year old. They're both the first star of their game, but Crosby could be tonight's NHL first star.
