The Washington Capitals, winners of a season-high four consecutive contests, look to make it five straight tonight (7 p.m. ET) in the first game of an OLN doubleheader.

I left at 8:54 left 1st, as the Caps went on their first power "kill" of the evening- I see I didn't miss a darn thing. Looks like they're "killing" another good chance right now.
7 SOGs to this point....... ugh.

Washington is 12-0 when allowing fewer than three goals, so we're still destined to win this game. All we need is a hat trick by Jeff "the scoring machine" Friesen, LOL!
Funny you say I set a record- that's exactly what I told Old Chelsea as I went by him on the way out..... lol.
The team just has no jump tonight (although that Willsie goal was the result of some good work down low- finally). It might be the result of a Carolina hangover (I heard the boys were out at a bar in Adams-Morgan the other night), Hanlon's cancelling practice as a "reward", and hard work by the Bruins- they've absolutely shut Ovechkin down, tonight.
And in defense of my early departure, I did go to the dentist today, where they gave me 4 shots to numb me, and did root planing on 6 teeth on one side of my mouth- 4 upper, 2 lower. I have a very high pain threshold, but I am feeling it tonight, right through all the drugs (and several beers).
I didn't know about Ovechkin named offensive player of the week, but it's no surprise. He's definitely the best offensive player in the league, right now, because, unlike the other guys with 30 goals or more, and 60 points or more, there's no one to pass him the puck, and no one he can pass the puck to. With another team, he'd have many more assists and would lead the league in points.
Caps are leading 17-7 in hits. The Bruins don't have any player with more than one hit. The Caps have several ones: Majesky 2, Witt and Sutherby 3, and... Ovechkin 5!
(Edit: Nickulas just recorded a second hit)

Next win will happen on Wednesday, a 10-0 blowout, LOL! With 6 goals and 4 assists by Ovechkin, and Crapsby pointless (in all senses of the word) crying for his momma.

All in all, it looks like the Caps had trouble getting out of each other's way as they were trying to bring the puck up.
Yonkman had one terrible giveaway in his own end that resulted in a Boston scoring chance. I didn't think he played as well tonight as he did against Carolina.
Thomas looked very good in net, especially with that last flurry of AO's shot to the post and then the rebound that the trailer (Laich?) couldn't punch in.
