From Spector's Hockey:
**WAIVER ALERT!**
SPORTSNET.CA REPORTED LAST NIGHT THE WASHINGTON CAPITALS HAVE PLACED CENTRE ANDREW CASSELS ON WAIVERS AND THE CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS DID THE SAME WITH CENTRE MIKHAIL YAKBUKOV.
Spector's Note: Hat tip to "Corie" and "Jason" for this one. Cassels never played up to expectations for the Caps this season and it's doubtful he'll garner much interest before heading down to the minors. Ditto for Yakbukov, the 10th overall pick in the 2000 draft, who has thus far failed to materialize into an NHL scoring forward.
I was wondering when that was going to happen. Old Andy's been riding the pine too much lately. It's too bad he didn't find his niche and put a few goals away. It would have been a big help for the team. Oh well, maybe someone will be interested in him when he comes back up from waivers (if the Caps bring him back).
