Well I was pulling for Johnson to get the D Player of the Week, but after seeing the list of candidates, I understand why he didn't:
(Huet won).... goaltenders Martin Brodeur of the Devils (4-0-0, 1.46 GAA), Miikka Kiprusoff of the Calgary Flames (3-0-0, 1.67 GAA) and Manny Legace of the Detroit Red Wings (3-0-0, 1.68 GAA) were runners-up for the defensive award.
Anyway, way to go, BJ- good work.
Looks like he might be in goal tonight, as well (hard to bench a guy who stopped 95 of the last 96 SOGs).
Can the Caps beat the Canes 3 times in a row in RBC? Yikes!

Marc, you just wouldn't believe the times this season he's sent pucks right through the paint, and the guy on the other side either never saw it coming, or couldn't handle it- I swear, he should have 60-65 assists easy.
Those who think he's just a goal scorer haven't been paying attention.
Clark is good, but we need to get a true sniper. Someone must finish those chances! Let's add an experienced defenseman, and we can make the playoffs next season.
If you rearrange some of those intials and drop a few letters .
You get...............AC/DC !
I cannot see a team beating Ott in the East .
This despite the fact I consider the Sens to be beatable.
The other playoff teams in the East just don't seem to have it .
Right off the faceoff, Staal against Halpern, Staal tries to take "liberties", and Halpern drops the gloves first and has at. Halpern wins easily, as Staal is bloodied and heads right for the dressing room and the medical staff.
To Clark's credit: he hasn't played on that line all season (Halpern, Willsie, Friesen and Laich spent some time there, if I remember), and he doesn't play on the top PP unit.
20 goals, that's twice his career high before this season.

Zubrus draws a boarding call, and AO jumps Ward fron behind in defense (Laughlin is right- it wasn't much of a boarding, and AO didn't do much except keep Ward from getting up off DZ). Caps to the PP.
Staal will never be known for "kerfuffle" talents.
I do beleive the Wings have 11 players this season with 20 or more goals.
Or it may be 7 ( i may have misheard what the announcers said yesterday during the game).
11 woulda have impressed me.
7 just tickles my fancy .
Det intrigues me as a team.
Could win the Cup but I think their suspect tending will do them in .
Cal is the team I am picking from the West(Det in the West..............only in the NHL)
AO gets crosschecked twice, by Commodore..... Clymer jumps Commodore.... 2 guys, one of them Williams, jump AO..... Yonkman gets in it, and throws a couple good ones (but Yonkman goes for "3rd man in")....
Caps end up with a PP out of all of it....
Canes kill, but commit another foul just before the first one ends.
Both helmets off, Bradley gets the better blows in, and the officials finally step in with neither guy giving any ground or showing signs of going down.
Kris Beech is 6-5-11 in 8 games with the Bears, including 2 short-handed goals. I believe he deserves a recall. Fleischmann too (27-30-57 in only 53 games).
I'd say it's close to another sellout in RBC- they've been drawing well down there, lots of fun promotions and giveaways for the fans (much better than at Verizon, imo).
edit: Plus, they have icegirls................. t-shirt shoots into the crowd, for 5 goals tonight, I think everyone gets a free gallon of windshield washer (and if you've ever been to N.C., that's better than it sounds- you need to refill constantly down there), lots of stuff to keep the fans interested; couple of quizzes a game, Ric Flair on the video when they score.....

Still not sold on Car being a hockey market but I am glad to hear that they have been drawing well/good this year.
Is Jack Johnson going to join them this year for the playoff run ?
Lots of talk up here that he was going to .
No idea. And as bad as fans make it out to be (Caps get a PP), Tampa has what.... 43 striaght sellouts? The Canes drawing, Atlanta doing better as they try for the playoffs, the Panthers and Caps bringing up the rear, but AO and others bringing fans in..... the Southeast is one of the stronger divisions in the League for the next several years.
I was just telling misto- you can't really count on Fata's talent, but he seems to have all the desire in the world. And he seems to bring Halpern's game alive, too.
