Didn't realize you were here, or I'd have joined in!
Hershey indeed won the game and the Calder Cup, in a 5-1 final game. Good work by all involved. I was fortunate and got up to Hershey for game 3 (the one they got shut out) and see the arena and fans first hand. While they lost the game, I really did get the feeling that they weren't all that worried by the loss, although the fans took it pretty hard. But after that game, for the rest of the series they were red hot.
Last night, Hershey had 6000 fans at the Giant Center, even though the game was in Milwaukee; Leonsis somehow talked Comcast into showing the game on a delayed basis at 11 last night, and again at 3 this afternoon. Tonight, The Giant Center is open to fans again, for a well deserved celebration of the victory.
Kudos and congratulations to all involved- the coaches, players, staff, and employees of the Hershey Bears organization, to the fans in Hershey and beyond (the games there were all sold out, with an overage to the official capacity), and to the Caps organization for giving them such great support this year, an giving us Caps' fans such wonderful hope for the future.
