"The Washington Capitals bought out the final year of defenseman Nolan Yonkman 's contract. Yonkman, who appeared in 38 games last season, was due to earn $450,000 next season."

Not surprising, I guess. His is a story of how bad luck can cut short what might have been a good career in Washington. So many injuries and lost time to overcome.

Tough break, but he should sign on somewhere- NHL or otherwise.

Another ex cappy Nolan signed on with teh Flyers.
Baumgartner .
He gets a 2 year conny for 2.4 million.
NOt bad considering he "only" made $120,000.00 last season .
