10:00 mins into the Tor/Buff game and there has yet to be an en sog .
Leafs up 2-1
Both Tor goals have come on BETTIES
Buff goal was on a pp and a delayed call coming up against Tor(so it was basically a Betty........goalie on bench for the extra attacker).
nothing but PP's so far
exciting
Buff just ties it right after a Tor pen ends
2-2

Gotta like a guy named Jakub but not named Cutta, too: Klepis is 1-2-3 in his last two games. And he's playing on the fourth line with offensive threats like Brashear and Gordon.
But I finally saw what I go to the Thrash games to see- Braydon Coburn.
Big boy, good skater, good D. He's gonna be a hoss.
Holik ties it up on the PP.
For several games, I've been meaning to tell you of Johnson's warmup routine- he flips a puck to a guy on the bench, the guy lobs it in the air and Johnson attempts to catch it behind his back. If he doesn't catch it, he skates to the far side,
(wow- Metro scores off the glass and off Metro's stick 3-2 Thrash, if it wasn't a high stick)
and bangs it high off the glass and catches it. Skates back to the bench, flips it to the guy, who lobs it again- if Johnson catches this one, he flips it back to the guy who throws it a little lower, and Johnson catches it between his legs (glove hand goes behind his left leg).
Every game, same routine. Then, tonight, he had a bout with Ovechkin, who fired one into the goal just as Johnson took the cage- Johnson skated out toward him, arms wide, as if to say "Hey- why me? Save it for the other guy!" Ovechkin skated back toward him, and Johnson threw his head back and laughed. Would have loved to have heard that conversation tonight.
Koken giving the word on Metro's goal- the glass behind Kolzig, and the stanchions that hold it, is brand new tonight- no marks, no hits, all springy give. Kind of interesting, since you don't see bounces like that puck every night. Another thing is, play resumed before they could really review that goal, and it looked like the stick WAS above the crossbar......

GREAT(sarcasm)
Willie Mitchell nails a Wing player
Wing is knockout
Now the talking heads are once again complaining about CLEAN bodychecks (shoulder hits).
I fear for what the NHL will look like in 3 years .
Chippiest moment of the game: Thrash go on a PP, on a namby-pamby hooking call.
Faceoff- Mellanby takes his stick and whacks Erskine right in the chest, very hard- Erskine goes to take him on , the ref gets between, and Erskine fires a right cross to Mellanby's jaw. Coincidental minors.....
Huet faced 21 shots by the Wild in the second period (and allowed 2 goals, alas). He's still the #1 goalie in Montreal, though (93.9% so far tonight... not his fault if his team gives up too many shots). Aebischer got pulled twice recently, I believe.

What- don't they have turkeys in Canada? Wish I could send you some, but I must admit my friends and I (Kovy scores to make it 4-2) are "Boston Marketing" tomorrow. They fix it, we pick it up at noon and take it home to eat.
I'm old enough (really, I am) to remember my Mom having to take the innards out of the bird the night before, and her preparing the stuffing and real cranberries..... yum. Gravy from the innards, and stuffing inside (and outside) the bird.
Some scrums at center ice with 1:22 left in the game- Sutton takes on Clymer, Clark involved with someone, couple other minor pairings. Not really any action though.
Faceoff, and Brashear takes on Vishnevsky- throwing hard shots, JB says VV may have a broken nose, and blood on the ice- brashear threw all the punches...... now Kolzig crosses center ice to go after Hedberg, but the officials get in his way..... the crowd is going wild. Bradley and DeVries in a jersey grabbing dance.... they get away from each other without any help.
Hawks may be fun but Cal did a sleepwalking thingy lastnight in the so called "battle of Alberta" and they look asleep tonight .
The Cal crowd is Quiet !
Another faceoff, and it's Mellanby and Heward this time- Mel gets the jersey up and a couple in, but Heward gets the hard takedown.... draw. Fifth fight in the last 2:00.
