by the way, the Isles' goal was facilitated by a defensive mistake- Pothier pinched in, and the turnover left only one man back as the Isles broke out of the zone.
Not even close to a goal on the PP.

Horrible score sheet so far (0-0, Johnson 0-0 in 9:08 and DiPietro 0-0 in 0:19), and we only have the Isles radio.

Yeah, Caps actually lead the SOGs 5-2 at this point, but the NHL stats are snafu like usual.

The shift chart is also a joke. Not easy to give a lineup with that.

Clymer-Sutherby-Bradley was only the starting lineup. Hanlon almost listened to me, and we have a more logical lineup tonight (the one I gave yesterday, except that Ovechkin and Semin are switched):WASHINGTON Capitals

You can't be any worse than Hanlon, that's for sure.

"My" lineup was based on Hanlon's habits, actually.
I was surprised, yesterday, to see him use a lineup that didn't follow his own logic. My idea was:
Ovechkin Zubrus Clark => Ovechkin Novotny Clark
Semin Beech Pettinger/Fehr/Fleischmann => Semin Beech Fleischmann
Pettinger Gordon Bradley (last weeks' checking line) => Laich Gordon Bradley
Clymer Sutherby Bradley (last season's checking line) => Clymer Sutherby Brashear

JB reported earlier that reports are Simon received a concussion from the boarding (not to say that excuses what he did).
2:00 more scoreless minutes brings the Caps to 153:47.... they're within a period of "greatness".
Caps get a whistle before the Isles get the third goal.

According to the shift chart, Morrisonn even had a shift while being in the box. I guess someone else took the first penalty.
