Glad I didn't stay up last night! I'd still be here. I think this has turned into almost the best series so far- lots of action, lots of hits, some chippy play. |

I have Joe B. announcing on Versus, again. Last time I had a chance to chat with him, he said he'd be doing through the Conference Finals, but "then it gets political". Too bad- he's one of the more lucid guys in the booth. |

great, another new rule suggestion
goals should count if the puck just breaks the plane(ala football)of the goal line . |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 8:02 PM |
2nd is on
nyr gets a 2 on 1 and miss the net
both of these teams need to practice their shooting ! |

maguire says something I agree with
"the rangers are playing with fire by not scoring on these pp's"
pp no 5 for nyr |
|
crowesnest (Login reallycrowesnest) Forum Moderator | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 8:11 PM |
Rags are putting the body to them, but every time they get a real chance, Miller is there. |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 8:13 PM |
0 for 5
once the even up calls start, the rangers will pay for not scoring on the pp |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 8:15 PM |

|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 8:24 PM |
why straka did not shoot the puck there when shanny was driving at the net is beyond me
nyr kills the pp |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 8:37 PM |
Jagr gets a late pen for punching zubrus( i thought they both deserved pens or not give one to either)
0-0 after 2 |

Sabres haven't done much with their chances, either. 2-1 OT might be a tad generous. How about 1-0 OT? |
|
crowesnest (Login reallycrowesnest) Forum Moderator | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:03 PM |
Still, I think it's been a good physical game both ways. That play at the end of the 2nd, where Avery broke his stick but still checked Hecht on his way to the bench was priceless; Zubrus has continued to do the job on Jagr all game, even drawing that penalty that started the 3rd on the PP for the Sabres. Both goalies have been stellar when they had to be.
Good game, they just can't score. |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:08 PM |
1-0 OT sounds right
buff have outshot nyr 23-8 since the end of the first |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:12 PM |
just noticed something about these two teams........where are the playoff beards ? |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:17 PM |
iffy on that call
I woulda called it a goal if I was the ref |
|
crowesnest (Login reallycrowesnest) Forum Moderator | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:18 PM |
Weak call, but it was a bump. |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:24 PM |
that should be counted
1-0 NYR(if it counts) |
|
crowesnest (Login reallycrowesnest) Forum Moderator | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:26 PM |
It counts. Wasn't it you picking on Straka earlier? Now your 2-1 OT is looking possible. |
|

|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:30 PM |
jagr on the ice in the last minute
and he was qyite effective
16 tics to go |
|
crowesnest (Login reallycrowesnest) Forum Moderator | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:32 PM |
And now your 2-1 OT is right on the money.
Drury again- the guy is golden. |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:33 PM |
nyr needed to kill those 16 tics
they had the series in their hands
|
|
crowesnest (Login reallycrowesnest) Forum Moderator | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:40 PM |
Meanwhile, the Bears came back from a deficit and tied WBS at the end of regulation, 3-3. Game 2 goes to OT in a moment. |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:43 PM |
what's with all these OT's ?
0-0 van giants/med hat
early in the first |

crowesnest (Login reallycrowesnest) Forum Moderator | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:51 PM |
For all their PP futility tonight, the Rangers are tops in the NHL playoffs at conversion at 23% (Versus stat). |
|
 tak (Login the_all_knowing) Member | Re: NYR in Buff | May 4 2007, 9:56 PM |
Buff wins on a pp goal
this series is going 7
wasn't happy with either call in OT
let the players play ! |
