Just an aside, I'm reading a new book called Cold-cocked On Hockey by Lorna Jackson, and it's one of the finest books I've read in quite a while. There's a lot of hockey mixed into it, but a lot of life, too. Rarely do I think anymore when I read, but this book has brought that back into my life, and I'm grateful for it.

We're 4:00 in to the 1st period, and so far it's a zzzzzzzzzzzzzz game.

Not a lot of action until 9:07 left 1st, when Kolzig gets wiped out by Drury- looked like CD's skate caught OK's leg or right groin area, and CD's stick caught OK's chest or jaw..... no call. Kolzig took about a 2:00 blow to recover, and immediately play resumed, the Caps get a PP.....

0-0, end 1st. Comcast had the scoring chances at 6-2 Caps, I had it at 3-1..... but what do I know? Stats say Caps, and the last couple of minutes there was an appreciable increase in the intensity, but for the most part, a snoozer to my eyes.

there's not much going on here. The Rangers have had the better of play in the 2nd, but that's not saying a lot- more like the lesser of two lethargic teams.
