Thrashers are starting a rookie in goal who won his debut the other day (Ondrej Pavelec), Johnson in goal for the Caps.

My bad, Poti is back in the lineup tonight... Pavelec with several saves (huge, according to Kolbe or whoever this is), and the Caps go on the PP early.

I'd do stats, but it looks like every game- Caps lead in shot attempts 31-13, hits are I think 7-6 Thrash, blocks are AFU as usual for NHL, and the Caps are at 53% on faceoffs.

All Caps, no goals.

I guess that isn't enough for the Caps, so they take a penalty and put the Thrash on the PP now.

Somehow (Kolbe didn't say how) Kovalchuk has been hurt- he was down for a while, and has left the ice headed for the room.

The Caps with 4 penalties in the 2nd period, after none in the 1st- the Thrash had 3 in the 1st, none in the 2nd.

Got to stay out of the box if they expect to win this one. No idea if kovalchuk is coming back tonight, and still haven't heard what happened to him.
