Indeed they are, so I'll just make this the game thread- and nice of you to stop in!
Although, it may not be worth the effort- 1:31 in, on the PP, Vinnie puts the Bolts ahead (Johnson in goal tonight) 1-0. About 6:00 later, Vinnie gets a clear breakaway, but Johnson comes up huge to keep the score at 1-0.
10:20, the Caps go on the PP for the first time- and at 9:50, if he hadn't gone a step offside, Vinnie would have had a SH breakaway.... at :35 left PP, the Caps get some good pressure in close, but Kozlov doesn't get the puck upstairs on a wide-open net, and the Caps remain in the 1-0 hole.
I feel sorry for AO
instead of going for "offensive" players(poti, kozlov, nylander) I think the Caps needed to add grit and defensive determination (is that a word) .
2-2, end 1st. If the Caps come out good in the 2nd, I'll give them props- they could have folded, giving up a goal in the first :91 after losing last night, and Hlavac's goal was very late in the period.
cannot comment on the caps tonight but I can comment on the Buff/Mon game
There is a WHL(Leth/Sask) game on tv now
both of those "dub" teams could beat the habs the way Mon is playing tonight .
Ovechkin in on a break.... pump fake the slapper, Holmqvist goes down.... Ovie shoots a wrist shot high... quick flashing glove save. Very nice play both ways, the shot and the save.

Faceoff to Johnson's left, a bomb by Richards, and it takes :03 of PP for Tampa to get the lead back.
3-2 Lightning.
True, though- a missed icing call led to that goal, as all the pressure stayed in the Caps' defensive end until Steckel had to grab a guy. Now Nylander in the box, and the Bolts right back on the PP.
Mike Green with a monster shift right now, at least two huge, crushing, clean hits. The shift ends with a scrum between all 10 skaters, Green in the middle.
And once again, in the last minute of a period, the Caps with a big letdown, the Bolts with a 2 on 1 break, and a laser by Paul Ranger puts the Bolts up 4-2 with :27.2 left in the period. Ugh.
Ovechkin with a huge chance with :05 left, stoned by Holmqvist....
Not much to say about this one- Caps have had 2 more PPs, nothing to show for them.
NHL 1st Star tonight will be Jussi Jokinen of Dallas, who already has 4 goals with a long way to go in that game. 2nd star may be Zubov, who assisted on all 4 goals.
