A collision, and Langenbrunner goes head-first into the boards.... he's hurt, but skates off and heads for the room. Good to see.

First view, I thought collision, but replay showed a trip by Schultz on the play....

Over on official, EDCeagle said about the goal "Olie should have had that one all the way even with the turnover. That was a weak backhand that went under his blocker arm. Geesh."

I thought it went higher, but I only saw a quick replay. Either way, folks saw he should have had that one.

1-0 Devils, end 1st. The Devs still have some PP time coming starting the 2nd.

And I'm so disinterested, I missed a goal- it's 2-0, end 1st.

edit: Zubie scored at 15:57 gone.... I must admit, I've got the TV on mute, and blasting some Shooter Jennings for the neighborhood.

It beats paying attention.

24:00 gone, the Caps have 5 SOGs after a 5 day layoff..... nice practicing, guys.

Paying so little attention, I missed a Caps' goal, but before I could post about it, the Devils come right back.....

3:34 left in regulation, the Caps get a PP- watch them make this a "close" 1 goal game....

Couldn't do it on the PP.... but with just 1:17 left, Laich pots one.

I was at the Rock tonight for the game...

-it's a very nice building, and not that difficult to get to using NJ Transit. My friend and I sat in the upper deck beneath the Press Box; its floor acts as an overhang for my section, so we get to watch what they do on HD Plasma screens attached to the ceiling scaffolding.

-Tonight was Scott Stevens HOF Tribute Night. Didn't take too much time to do and it was a wonderful ceremony.

-Brian Pothier: worst...giveaway...ever.

-I can't fault Kolzig for the PP goal that made it 2-0. He made many dazzling stops tonight.

-I didn't see a whole lot of hitting until late in the game (none of it from the Caps).

-On the first PP, Flash had a decent chance in tight. On subsequent PPs, he got away from it (???). And why weren't Poti and Green on the points? The PP moved the puck well, but they didn't make Brodeur work to help the Devils kill 'em off.

-Other than that, I think the system works...from a certain point of view. It enables the team to keep the puck in the attack zone (over half the game was played there). I wish it could enable them to generate more quality scoring chances.
