Nylander's back tonight, and I boldly predict an end to the winning streak- no more jumping up into the play for the defense, so Michael can do his circles and spins on most of the shifts..... puck control, with nowhere to go.....
we shall see.
Game on.

We don't get much action here- just me, Marc, misto, Michael (PureAgression27) and the occasional TAK when he gets permission to use the high technology from his nieces and nephews, and the rarer visits from hkywmn and FJC....
but, then, we like it that way.
Over on official, Olie's got 2 new names, it seems- Koalzig, or even worse, Goalzig....
Seems like it's been a good game so far, but one hideous mistake and one cherry-pickin' breakaway and the game is tied. Such is hockey, I s'pose.
No vodka mixers at Casa de Netsy... I don't like to drink when I don't have the Verizon Center scoreboard's shell game to help me assess my blood alcohol content.
Yeah, it's funny how inconsistent Kolzig sometimes seems. Because I only ever see Caps games, though, I don't have much of a frame of reference to be able to tell if other goalies let in softies in the manner of Olie.
Usually I refer to Casa de Netsy as "Graceland II".
LOL... Miller goes behind the net to play a puck coming around, it hits the boards and caroms out in front of the net, where Brooks Laich buries it in the empty net!
I know it benefitted the Caps there, but boy, the Verizon Center rink is pretty embarrassing. Awful ice, and now the bad boards are back. We saw a couple weird board bounces like that last season, didn't we?
All goalies let in "soft" goals, but it's almost like Kolzig's written the book at times on how to NOT play pucks. Unlike Mae West, when he's good, he's very good, but when he's bad, he's TERRIBLE.
I have to agree about the ice. You know (or, maybe you don't), at the end, before TL priced me out, the "crowesnest" was section 400, row Q, seat 21- right directly under an air conditioning duct. I recall back in '02-'03, and even '03-'04, being very cold up there, needing an extra sweater, watching the new people freeze when they came dressed for a typical sporting event, instead of a hockey game. If you went down to warmups near the rink, before the game, you shivered.
The last few seasons, I never needed the extra layer- in fact, most games I'd strip down to a regular t-shirt under a jersey, and still be warm.
They really need to do something about it, but only Leonsis (maybe in concert with the Abe) can control that.
Yeah, I'm rarely too cold at Caps games these days. (Not a planholder here, but I've been mooching the occasional ticket off of a friend.)
At the Devils game on Monday, they cut down the first intermission Mites on Ice game to a mere Mites Shootout, presumably to get the zambonis out earlier... but there were still puddles around by the start of the next period.
