| As I mentioned elsewhere, no Semin tonight (didn't travel) and no Poti....
2:38 in, the gloves drop. It's Erskine and Lucic (one of TAKs' favorites), with Erskine the clear winner- got the best and most blows in, knocked the helmet off with an early punch, and got the knockdown. No contest, this time.

Just over 11:00 in, and the SOGs are 8-3 Caps... pretty even matchup, from what I've seen. Not a lot of excitement since the "fight".

Caps get the first PP with 4:39 left 1st....
from what I've seen, both teams are trying to be too "cute" with passes and moves- just play hockey, and the goals will come. And by "cute", I mean passes in just too tight an area to get through, good passes in the blind to areas that the other team is in better position, that kind of thing.
Killed by the Bruins, back to ES.
Icing on the Caps, 2:21 left 1st.

Wow- Kolzig with a HUUUUGE stop, about 1:25 left....he's had 3-4 in this period.
0-0, end 1st. Interesting period, not the best hockey, but not the worst, either.

Stats = edge to the Bruins, except faceoffs (65% Caps), and Kolzig.
I'd call it an even period.

5:00 gone in the 2nd, and the play is the same- competitive, if not inspiring. Still 0-0, the Caps have killed off a Bruins' PP now, and everyone seems to be looking for an advantage that just isn't there.

Caps a PP with pressure but no result, and then, right out of the penalty box....
Savard scores, and the Bruins lead 1-0. under 6:00 left 2nd.

1-0 Bruins, end 2nd. As competitive as the score, in my opinion (but a big no way if you read at official).

2:12 into the 3rd, and Boston has iced the puck at least 3 times.... no real great chances, either way.
Boston's killing clock already, and the Caps are cooperating for the most part.

Green catches Lucic in the chops with a high stick, it's a 4:00 Bruins' PP. And Kozlov serves for too many at the same time, so it's 2:00 of 5 on 3....

... and even pulling Kolzig with over 2:00 left does no good. Ovechkin hits iron early on, the third time tonight the Caps found iron instead of net, and....
2-0 Bruins, final.
