I have no prob with the yearly salary but to give anyone a 13 year conny just seems stupid to me .
How often have you heard that players who spend too long in org need to go to another team for a fresh start .worn out the welcome (heard that exact talk about marleau lastnight,too long on one team and needs to get out restart his career).

I also wonder how much influence AO will now have with the running of the team .Could gmgm trade Semin (as an example) without AO's okay ? 13 years means AO now has thousand times more job security than any gm or coach on the Caps will have for the next decade at least ........it will not be AO who would be shown the door because of any internal upset .I would say that as of today ,AO even has more power in the running of the caps than does Uncle Ted .
