Dang! Ovechkin down and out, :55 in- Kovalev with the stick to Ovie's face. Nasty looking injury, wasn't intentional, but damn it was one of the harder high sticks I've seen. Ovie to the bench, Caps to the PP for only 2:00....

Ovechkin checking the teeth he has left and his left jaw, on the bench.... and now he's on the ice, and crunches Begin in open ice....
Caps offside with :59 left in the PP.... Laich stoned by Huet.... Kozlov misses.... killed. Back to ES, Caps with 1 SOG on that PP.

Now the Habs get the PP, but nothing on it- back to ES. 9:00 left 1st, we're still 0-0.

Kolzig a HUUUUUGE save, 2:20 left.... 1:25 left.... EN for the Habs, exactly 1:00 left.... Habs score with :32.6 left, great save by Kolzig, but no help as he's sprawled in the crease....

Ask Ovechkin- hat trick, takes the League lead in points, but the Caps need every point they can get, in the playoff race.
Would he trade the personal stuff for the team?

and on the day in which I submit another MBA Application, the Caps beat Montreal in OT.
Ovie bailed the defense out big time tonight. Each defensman owes him dinner for the next six nights at Kinkead's, Vidalia's, Capital Grille, The Paper Moon, The Palm, and last but not least, Las Placitas (Ovie gets a margarita pitcher all to himself).

And the rest of Ovechkin's night, which I failed to pick up on- the high stick of course, which in the paper today says he was cut under the left eye- why that wasn't a 4:00 penalty, I don't know....
slammed into the boards by a Hab, and his nose was broken (didn't hear if it's straighter now, or more crooked).....
