Fehr also gots some metal (off a fine pass from Ovechkin), but now it's the Devs on the PP.... they'll have :42 of PP to start the 2nd. Good D by the Laing and the Caps.
8:15 left 2nd, SOGs are 19-7 Caps. Very dominant shifts by the Caps again, but the score says otherwise... this last stoppage, Brashear and Clarkson try to go but are separated, both nodding vigorously at each other- looked like next time, they'd go, but- Asham comes in and takes a poke at Brashear, he retaliates, and they skate 4 on 4....
ES. Laich gets 4 shots from right in front of Brodeur, but can't get it up off the ice and MB blocks them all. At the end of it, Laich gets buried under several bodies- a "pig pile", as Laughlin calls it.
3:30 left 2nd, lots of action now- Devils get a series of hard shots, Johnson blocks them all.... Caps come down, Ovechkin gets a very hard one off, it's blocked but a NJ crosscheck puts the Caps on the PP at 3:01....
2:00 left, the Devils get a SH odd man rush, it's shot wide.... Fehr to the box takes them off the PP and at 1:01 left in the 2nd the Devils have the PP now.... another penalty on the Caps, and at :14.6 left, the Devils go up 5 on 3...
0-0, end 2nd. Devils have :40 of 2MA, and then some 5 on 4 coming to start the 3rd.
And just as I give up and hit post, Semin takes the team on his back, works through the whole Ozone by himself, toe drags the puck past the D, and roofs it over a sprawled Brodeur!
1-1

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!! A shot from the blue line goes through Johnson- he has no idea where it is.... it rolls SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWLY just wide of the net....
11:00 of back and forth, good saves by both goalies, sharp passes from Ovechkin to a couple guys who can't get it by MB.... :13.1 left in regulation, Marty stops them again....
Maybe that's why I said :13.1 left in regulation....
Ovechkin hits Green with another pass and Brodeur stones him. I swear, if Ovie had anyone of real ability to play with, he'd already have over 60 assists this season.
His last three passes were Gretzky/Lemieux worthy.
