Less than 3:00 gone, and Laich breaks open right down the middle, off a great pass from Fleishmann of all people, and it's 1-0 Caps.... now Semin catches Radivojevic square in the face with his stick, sends him off the ice bleeding profusely... no call.

Midway through the 1st.... a typical line change, Morrisonn off the bench.... gets the puck and rifles it past Backstrom!

Ovechkin in a bench interview says "We just have to keep it going and don't stop" so immediately they commit a penalty and put the Wild on the PP.

Caps have looked bad for the first 15:00 of this period, but now the 3rd line guys put on a show, and Fehr is left alone just long enough while working around the net to roof one over Backstrom!
3-1 Caps!!!
Poti and Laich with the assists (Poti really kept the play alive). Fehr is the second Cap tonight with his first goal of the season.

4-1 Caps, end 2nd. After being outplayed for about 15:00, the Caps take over the last 5:00.... nice to see.
Ovechkin looks like he's starting to squeeze that stick a little too tight; it's about time someone stepped up and covered for him.

3rd is on, the Caps have looked decent.... they get a PP, but do nothing with it.... the Wild get a PP, and very early on a puck hits crossbar and post, but doesn't go in.... back and forth.... Caps get another PP, nothing.... there's about 4:00 left in regulation.

4-1 Caps, final.
The dream is alive... Fehr, Fleishmann and Laich each +4 tonight... but Semin's 5 game goal streak comes to an end, Ovechkin gets shutout, and Malkin has at least 2 points tonight to go further ahead of Ovechkin in the points race.
