Huet in goal. Morrisonn out (shoulder), Eminger in.
The experts say if the Caps can win out, they are in the playoffs, as all scenarios point to one or more of the others losing at least one game somewhere along the line. We shall see.....
game on.
Let's go, Caps!!!!

Word is Toronto made the call, incidental contact, but no Cap ever touched Ramo. Yeah, the D guy cleared a Bolt who barely slid into Ramo, but Laughlin and Joe both say they've never seen that called "incidental" before.
Absolutely terrible call, no matter who made it. Clearly a goal, and if that keeps the Caps out of the playoffs, the League gets what it deserves.
I'm never one to scream "conspiracy" on the part of the referees or the League, but that's the most atrocious call I've seen in sports in maybe 50 years.

Yes, this Bruins-Sens game is good for us. But not sure about OT losses, etc. If the Bruins win it in OT, and Sens get another point, I'm not sure the Caps can overtake them, but let's forget all this: like I said in the other thread, Caps can make the playoffs with 1, 2, 3 or 4 points in their last 2 games. They need at least one (obviously, hehe, because they're still 9th). But of course, winning out should open the doors of the post-season more surely.
In house it's Kozlov, CL and JB seem to think Ovechkin got it on the rebound. Seeing the slo-mo, I think it's Kozlov- Ovie never touched it, it ricocheted off a couple Bolts' sticks and in.
Shots are 18-4 Caps so far. Wow. And I'm sure the Caps will try to do that for the whole game. But such energy could lead to spending some time in the box and also skating a little slower in the third period.
Rangers: if they get two points out of their last three games, Caps can't overtake them anymore. They're the less reachable of the five teams the Caps could overtake, they're leading, so I guess we can forget about them.
If the Sens lose in regulation in Toronto tonight, they'll have to win their last game to be sure to escape from the Caps. But that game would be against the Bruins, so it's all good for us. Worst scenario would be: Sens win that last one in OT or the SO, I guess.
Buffalo-Montréal: to make the playoffs AND kick the Caps out of the playoffs, the Sabres would have to win out and the Caps should not get more than one point out of their last two games. So I guess this one is not too interesting either.
Laughlin again says this will be a low scoring, 1-goal game........... Boudreau (and the announcers) say last game was the loudest they've ever heard MCI/Verizon, including the 1998 Finals games. Kudos to Sam (Horn Guy), William (Goat), and those making the noise. I hear them right now. Awesome!
Again, they just showed stats- 17,000+ the last 9 games, 5 sellouts in the last 9... just showed a replay of Ovechkin blocking a shot, getting hit hard in the right knee... skated to the bench, but he was in pain....
tough guy. Back out for his next shift, but then off the ice, and to the room early with less than 1:00 left 2nd.... Huet save on a 2 on 1.....
Bad news is, Ovechkin limped to the room when he went, and the PP is 0-3.... this is the playoffs, for all practical purposes, guys- got to lay it on the line.

Wow- big collision, and Vinny is down and out- no movement, they've come out on the ice to attend to him.
edit: still not up, finally got him up and helping him off the ice. No calls, he collisioned with his own man- seems to be hurt in shoulder or arm, very serious from what I can see.

The Bolts end the game in disarray, too many during a stoppage for the Bolts, so the Caps end with a 5 on 3 and there's a fight, Bradley and Lessard..........
