I was lax in starting a thread, still coming down from the Caps' fortunes.

Opening night, Montreal scored in the last minute of regulation, and then beat Philadelphia in OT. Detroit squeezed out a  1 goal win against the Avs.

Pittsburgh played a great game last night- down 3-0 to the Rangers, and ended up winning 5-4.... Dallas beat San Jose in OT after a great game.

Today, the Red Wings are blowing out the Avs 5-1, final now. Tonight, the Flyers try to take the Habs again.

Except for the Det-Col game just over, some great hockey being played already, and 2 rounds to go after this one.

I've had a crappy connection since Thursday, I think. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. I started listening to the first Canadiens-Flyers game when it was 3-2 Flyers. With 1:09 left, Canadiens got a PP, and pulled their goalie for a 6-on-4 advantage. Then the radio crashed, and I gave up. Canadiens tied the game with their goalie pulled, then scored early in overtime to make this a win. It's the kind of miracle the Caps needed to still be around.

Flyers are leading 3-1 a little after mid-game, now. Looks like the Habs have a hard time winning at home. What will it be in Philly? Hehe. They need Jon Lajoie to punch Umberger, Carter, Prospal, Upshall, Brière, Richards, Lupul, etc.

At least we lost to conference finalists.

If I remember, the Eastern Conference teams with the best record in their last 10 season games were the Caps, the Flyers and the Pens. Guess who's in the Conference finals...

Hehe. At least, we were one goal away from making it to the next round. The Canadiens didn't come close to that.

If the Flyers win the next two rounds 4-1, we'll be able to say that the Caps were the only team which beat them more than once in the playoffs.
