I started listening late (middle of the first period), and it was already 1-0 Caps.
41 seconds into the game, Morrisonn went to the box for high sticking. But before the penalty was over, Yelle got called for interference: 4-on-4 hockey, then 1:36 of PP for the Caps, who didn't even need that to score: Backstrom, from Ovechkin and Kozlov.

Then, Nokelainen to the box, but PP killed 23 seconds later by Ovechkin, called for hooking (on a breakaway short-handed chance for the Bruins, if I remember).
Both penalties killed.
Game dominated by the Bruins (11 shots to 2), but Caps leading on the scoreboard. Johnson solid in goal.
Caps' shots are by Backstrom (of course) and Semin, who is back. After a few minutes, he had a shot, a takeaway and... a hit... on Chara! He must feel good. Great news.

End of first period. 1-0 Caps. Shots are now 14-6 Bruins. Semin registered another takeaway, got two attempts blocked by Hunwick, who also hit him, imitated 8 seconds later by Wheeler (they better not injure him again!).

Late again in this period, and it's 2-0 Caps. Giroux!!! At even strength, from Kozlov and Poti.
Caps are leading in shots, in this period: 8-3.
Johnson will do everything to get the shutout, now. That would be nice. According to the big titles on nhl.com, the "red-hot Bruins" came here "for their sixth consecutive win at Washington." May not happen.
Washington Capitals recall Oskar Osala from Hershey, reassign two

WASHINGTON - The injury-depleted Washington Capitals dipped into the AHL yet again, recalling forward Oskar Osala from Hershey before Wednesday night's game against Boston.
The Capitals also sent forward Keith Aucoin and forward Bryan Helmer back to Hershey. The six-foot-four, 225-pound Osala was a fourth-round pick in the 2006 entry draft. He ranks third in the AHL with 16 goals this season.
Washington's latest hurt player is forward Tomas Fleischmann, who ranks third on the team with 10 goals this season.
"Every night it's something different," coach Bruce Boudreau said before Wednesday's game. "You've just got to go in the room and take a deep breath and say, 'OK. Everything's fine.' Other teams are experiencing the same thing."
With several key players sidelined by injuries - including forwards Alexander Semin, Sergei Fedorov and Chris Clark, and defenceman Mike Green - the Capitals have been forced to bring up a series of players from the minors recently.
Still, Washington leads the Southeast Division.
"We haven't got to a point where we're losing and then we're blaming it on the fact that we're hurting," Boudreau said. "The guys that are getting called up are doing a good job. It's not them. When we do lose, they're usually not the reason that we do lose."
I left on the Giraux (sp?) goal, 2-0 Caps- VERY good game. Osala's first NHL game, team seems to be working hard, Semin and Poti both back in the lineup.
Got home with the score 2-1 very early 3rd, Caps just killed another penalty, and it's 9:20 left reg with a stoppage.
Semin had a couple great shifts in the 1st- looked a little rusty on the passes, but he's a physical guy now. He's as big or bigger than Ovechkin, in my opinion.
Back to the game- 5:15 left reg.... Boston has not been held to 1 or less in 17 games.... 4:30, the Bruins can't get anything going.... 4:16, stoppage with the puck in the Bruins' bench and a TV timeout....
3:40, icing Bruins.... save BJ at 2:56, no rebound.... Laich is 66.6% on faceoffs tonight (10 of 15).... BJ save at 2:16 and a quick whistle.... under 2:00.... 1:30, the Caps control.... 1:05, EN for the Bruins....
OVECHKIN ENG!!!!
3-1 CAPS!!!
:51.9, the Bruins (I think) take the timeout.... MF save at :32.1....
