Way too many mistakes that led to great chances for the Panthers. Caps didn't fight too much for this one, it seems. Great to get a shutout once in a while, though.
Oh, wait, I was a little too hard with our Caps, there...
There were only seven shots in the third period of the Washington Capitals' game against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately for the slumping Panthers, all seven came from the Capitals.
Jose Theodore made 19 saves in his second shutout of the season to lead Washington to a 3-0 win over the Panthers, who didn't have a shot in the goal in the final period.
"I've never been involved in a game where that's happened," Washington coach Bruce Boudreau said. "I think it's a great testament to our players and the commitment they made to winning."
