Well so sucky a game I left about mid-1st with the score 0-0, and by the time I got home the Isles had scored twice. Caps still sucked until Erskine got things stirred up, and the Caps have now come back with 2 of their own....

The game has pretty much gone back to sleep now.... Caps' goals were ovechkin, from Fedorov, and Aucoin (his 1st as a Cap) from Fehr. Two fights, first Erskine and then Shultz (who'da thunk? )

2-2, end 2nd.

3rd on, the Isles come out on the puck and the Caps, the Caps come out on their heels again- icing after 1:03....

1:35 gone, the Caps are offside....

1:57, Theo has to cover it up.

Nylander gets throen out the faceoff.... Nylander then turns it over to Park, who splits the Dmen to break in alone, over Theo's shoulder, it's 3-2 Isles.

At 15:10 left, MacDonald with a stunning glove save on Backstrom, and then a sprawling save off a rocket by Semin.

Jackman makes a split-second decision not to forecheck behind Theo, and green makes him pay with a cruching hit. Rechlicz (sp? ) clocks Green in open ice, so the Caps go on a PP.... for all of :10 when they get an interference call of their own. 4 on 4....

back to 5 on 5.... 10:34 left, a scrum behind the Isles' goal.... and the Caps get a PP out of it.... second time down, with some marvelous passing, Green evens the score!!!

Theo gets crashed into, the Caps get another PP, and........

Green again! But it's under review to see if it was tipped with a high stick.... Fleishmann denying he ever touched it.... if it stands as Green's goal, he's now the 8th Dman in NHL history to score 30 in a season.

4-3 Caps

Lots of action from 6:06 down to 3:47, Mac gloves another Backstrom shot....

3:06, Theo stops Park twice at close range.... 1:47, puck off the rink.... 1:15, offside NYI....

EN.... Backstrom buries it.

5-3 Caps, final. The score looks better than it is.

 

Hahaha! I read the thread on April 2 before you changed the title.

That goal by Ovechkin from Fedorov was a thing of beauty.

Green had a point in each one of his last 7 games (7-5-12; Ovechkin was 5-7-12).

Now, if Ovechkin could have a 6-point game, and Malkin be scoreless tomorrow, that would make the race interesting...
