4-3 Rangers with 0:55 left to play, and I can't get the radio to work.

Works now. Empty net, extra attacker.

20 seconds...

Ovechkin, Green, Backstrom, Ovechkin the one-timer.

Final score. Terrible. What a way to start a series at home.

I should be more able to follow the next one, since it's very early (soon after dawn for Tom, hehe), although I'll possibly miss the beginning, if I go to Cherbourg... Geez, I hope this series reserves better things for the Caps.

So, let's talk about the good things... Two PP goals scored by Fleischmann and Semin, both from Ovechkin and Green (on the 3rd and 5th opportunities of 7). An ES goal by... Kozlov! from Backstrom and Erskine.

Caps killed their first two penalties, but paid for the next two, in less than two minutes (they lost the game there).

I hope that Theodore won't give up 4 goals again next time. For some reason, I'd feel better with Varlamov. Too bad we didn't test him more in the last two months, when the games were almost meaningless. We don't really know yet if we could give him the job, but he's certainly a good goalie.

Caps should simply not lose at home if they want to go far in the playoffs. And against the weakest team they'll have to face, they have no excuse.

I imagined they'd win the first two home games, then one of two away, then game 5 at home, but it will be much harder than that...

Yeah, they were their usual one-dimensional self- all Ovechkin, all game. I think he had 13 SOGs, 10 missed, and 5 blocked..... led the team in hits.... nobody else stepped up (well, Kozlov, but that's his one good game in 27).

The 1st period went well, I thought, but after that they tried to coast through the 2nd and got burned. Everything was up on Theo I believe- looks like Torts has a game plan against him. The Rangers went with 3 lines all night.

On to Saturday.

Wasn't able to catch any of this game but I was not impressed by the replays I saw (and a check of the boxscore......where was the hate?)
The other 3 games were hardly barn burners either
Car and Philly will be golfer soon unless they kick it up several notches.
St Loo and Van actually tried to add some Playoff nastiness to the game but the refs would have none of that. The boys in stripes helped turn this one into a snoozer also .

I hope and pray that the refs allow the Habs and Bruins get their hate on tonight .
