Calahan scores on a 2-on-1 with Naslund! 1-0 Rangers. Caps should have been much more careful in the first period. No reason to take risks early.

Ovechkin took 5 shots (2 denied, 2 blocked, 1 wide), had 3 hits and... 3 giveaways.

Not only this game, Lulu. If they don't win this period 2-0, they're pretty much done. There are many ways to win, but the best way is certainly not to score goals in the last two minutes. You gotta show who's the boss. Let's say that last game was bad luck (considering the amount of shots), but if Caps lose this one, they'll lose a lot of confidence, and the others will win as much, just before hosting the Caps for two games.

That was hot, but Caps did a good job on the PK, and looks like they'll kill this one... killed. Important. Now, they must score in the next few minutes.

Caps could have given one up to Naslund, there, but Backstrom cleared.

"Thundering hit" by Erskine, now, followed with an opportunity for the Caps, but Kozlov is offside (once again).

Kolbe wondering like me why Boudreau has not changed his lines yet. We gotta have Semin with Ovechkin and Backstrom. Kozlov has missed opportunities and been offside at least twice.

Green just spent two minutes in the box, still 1-0 Rangers, with 4:33 left. At least, Varlomov only gave up one goal so far. You gotta give the kid some credit. He's 20, it's the playoffs. He's winning the job, there. Let's hope it will be for several rounds.

A pass from Kozlov to Ovechkin intercepted by Rozsival, but he gets called for hooking soon after, and the Caps will enjoy their first PP of the game.

Varlamov with two good saves, now. The kid is really keeping us in this game. Forwards won't be able to blame the goalie.
