"Stuff" to get out... Semin missed the skate this morning, but Ovechkin says he will play.... Beagle up, Alzner down.... Boudreau, on Crosby: "Yeah, he's the second-best player in the world. Of course he poses problems. He's the best player we play against."
Meanwhile, I have the Black Crowes' "Shake Your Money Maker" blasting- the track titles seem so appropriate for this evening's game:

Once again, the Caps jump out in the very girst minute- a 5 holer.... now the Caps go down a man on what would have been an icing call on the Pens- not smart.
Here I am, with Caps still in the game with this goal by Clark (just read the whole thread, before checking the score at nhl.com).
I agree: they should have started Theodore. His last chance to show he could be of any help. Actually, I would have started him in game 3, the only game I would have been ready to lose.

Friday, 05.08.2009 / 8:25 PM / Conference Semifinals: Washington vs. Pittsburgh
By NHL.com Staff
Pittsburgh defenseman Sergei Gonchar left Game 4 of the Penguins' series against Washington late in the opening period Friday night after a knee-on-knee hit by the Caps' Alex Ovechkin.
The Penguins announced that Gonchar's return was questionable.
With Washington on a power play, Ovechkin raced behind the net and caught Gonchar with his right knee. The hit sent Gonchar spinning into the air before he landed on the ice; he was quickly on his hands and knees, in obvious pain.
Ovechkin received a tripping penalty at 14:55; Gonchar, who scored the Penguins' first goal 3:55 into the game, was helped off the ice.
Keep those cards and letters coming in, thread fans....
regardless of the score and Gonchar's injury, this one is being dominated by the Pens- I won't be surprised if the Pens get the ENG at the end to win by 2.
I was about to say that the only thing that could save the Caps, now, would be a short-handed goal, but I was not holding my breath... And Jurcina scores!!! Short-handed. Back to a one-goal game. 4-3.
Yes, this one is over. Hopefully, home ice will help the Caps to compete a little better, because they seem to have been outplayed in the last three games, or maybe in every game of this series.
I think the Caps are still in a good situation. They generally have very good games after going through a bad period. It's now that they need to wake up, and it's only 2-2, so they still have their chances if they manage to play their game. The series will be decided in next game, I guess. Next victory is huge, hehe.
0-1: Great shot by Backstrom.
1-1: Gonchar. I guess that's one of the softies for Varlamov.
- Fedorov with a great shot that hits the post; he deserved that one.
- Another beautiful shot by Fedorov, and Fleury makes an awesome save.
2-1: Guerin. Green involved three times.
3-1: Fedotenko. Real softie, this time.
3-2: Green hits the post and Clark jumps on the rebound. This makes up for Green's lazy play on the 2-1 goal.
- Green involved in a chance for Semin after that.
4-2: It's Green who lets Crosby go away for the 2-on-1.
4-3: Jurcina. Fleury was apparently disturbed by one of his d-men, that Bradley pushed into the net. Still a good shot.
- A couple of great saves by Varlamov that make up for one of the softies.
- And yet another pair of crazy saves by Varlamov, to make up for the other softie.
5-3: Talbot. The most important goal; Green gets his pocket picked by Fedotenko.
I'd say that it was a bad night for Green: he was directly involved in three goals against and only one for. It's a little too late for experiments, but I'm wondering if he should not play RW on the top line.
