Judging by the first two games ,Pitts doesn't belong on the same ice as the Wings.
I kinda think the real Cup Finals was the Wings/Ducks series .

I am amazed how litle offense the Pens can muster but they are now playing the much tougher Western Div and I guess I shoulda expected this.

Fluery has looked shakey(and I know this will not happen) but if I were the pens coach I would seriously think about starting the back up in game 3.
Then I would take every forward not named Crosby or Malkin ,put their names in a box and draw 5 names and bench those 5 players in game 3.

Game 3 better be a more pleasing to the eye !

But agreed- if the Pens are getting smoked, the Caps would have been even worse.

True story alert- vendor came in to work today (he owns his company, has for about 20 years since his father passed), and saw me in my Hershey Bears' t-shirt.... we started talking hockey, he asked me how the Bears were doing in the Calder Cup, and finally he came out with his daughter knows several of the Caps, hangs with Green and Backstrom, among others.

He looked really discouraged when I finally came out and said, flat out, the Caps will never make it. They are wasting Ovechkin's career, and they need too many pieces of the puzzle (by the time they fill a piece or three, like Nylander/Fedorov/Clark, there will be just as many other pieces to fill.)

Too bad, I'm a Caps' fan, but they will never see the Cup.

In the first two games I never once got the feeling the Pens could come back when they were only down by a goal .
Hopefully the Pens will put on a better show on home ice.


Caps and the Cup ?
I am not ruling out a Cup victory in next 10 years but I do not think their current lineup makes them in any way a contender.Winning in the reg season and the playoffs are very different and in my opinion the caps seem stuck in a reg season mentality roster wise .

Kudos to the Pens for playing better and winning game 3

Hopefully they will play like they did in per 3 for the rest of the series .

But I gots to be honest here............I believe that the Pens will only when the Wings allow them too .If the Wings bring their A game (which they did not in game 3)there isn't much that the Pens can do .

Game 4 goes to the pens 4-2
Pitts played the way I thought they would play all series and were the best team out there tonight .
If they can take it to a game 7 (my pens in 6 is still possible but not probable)you never what can happen .

At home, they played with confidence. But can they keep it up.....

Is it just me or has there only been one per(3rd per of game 6) in the first six games were both teams have shown up ?
This lack of showing up on the road by both teams makes me remember that old playoff hockey adage "any team can win at home ,the good teams win on the road"(may not be the exact words).

I also must again express my displeasure towards the salary Cap and just one of it's results..............Satan,Talbot,Guerin,Kunitz are the linemates for 2 of the best players in the world .Shame that once a player reaches a certain level of stardom his team seems unable to supply him with topnotch talent .
