7:30 game THEIR time (8:30 mine), so I'm probably only good for one period.

Neuvirth in goal tonight- hard to believe, but he is 3rd all time in Caps' goalie wins...
game on. First 2:00, pretty much all Jets... Caps get lucky after 2:00 more, MN under fire but the Jets get called for a hand pass right beside the net...
10:50 left 1st- at least it's going by fast, no penalties yet and few stoppages. That doesn't mean it's exciting hockey, though...
9:53 left, the first penalty of the evening... and it's on the Caps... the Jets are 2/30 recently on the PP... Hamrlik gets clubbed by a hard shot, leaves the ice not putting weight on one skate... all killed, back to ES...
Caps under fire, and at 6:17 left neuvirth finally covers the puck.

Caps under fire, and at 6:17 left Neuvirth finally covers the puck. SOGs are 12-4 Jets.
I was close- Ovechkin scored with 1:14 left in regulation.
1-0 Caps, final.
edit: Although descriptions I'm reading of the 3rd period say the Caps were playing the much better game- 14 SOGs in the 1st for the Jets, 12 the rest of the way. Sounds like the D came to play last night. On to Colorado.

Great goal, there, especially Backstrom's turnover and great pass.
I guess after a 5-1 defeat they wanted to focus on defense, and Neuvirth was strong. He's #1 now.
"[In the] first period," Ovechkin said, "Neuvirth made some unbelievable saves and kept us in the game, and we just played better and better. I think [in] the last 20 minutes, we played well and had more chances."
In giving the Capitals (16-13-1) their fourth win in six games since a four-game losing streak, Neuvirth stopped all 26 Winnipeg shots for his first shutout since March 18.
"He played the game well," Capitals coach Dale Hunter said of Neuvirth. "We had some breakdowns defensively in our own end, and he stood tall and made the big saves.
"In the third period," Hunter continued, "I thought we were skating really well and playing more in their end, but definitely Michal kept us in the game early and gave us some confidence, and I thought we played well in the third."
