Hahaha, the 3 Caps fans in the middle of hundreds or thousands of Leafs fans in the streets of Toronto were happy.

First game of the series in which the Caps show their real level.

Great saves by Holtby, especially the one with his arm on the rebound.

Leafs pulling their goalie with 3 minutes left.

Tons of icing calls against the Caps, but only 47.6 seconds left. Should be OK.

Oshie with a slow attempt at the empty net, or was it only clearing? 34.8 left.

Bozak scores with 25.8 left!!!

Holtby complained about interference. Coach's challenge. Doesn't look like there was any.

Call stands: 5-4.

Caps, be good.

Great job, guys! Ooooh, it was still hot, for a clear win, LOL.

Series tied 2-2.

Caps, you don't want to face elimination, do you? So win the next two games.

Re: ECQF Game 4 at Toronto Maple Leafs (W 5-4)

April 20 2017, 6:52 AM

"It's nice that we're able to score goals and get ourselves back in the game, but we didn't play near as good as we needed to," Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said. "We talked a lot about how the game was going to be today, but it didn't look like any of that sunk in. We weren't good enough, we didn't compete hard enough. I thought they won all the battles and all the races."

I agree with that. The score doesn't show it, but the Caps were in control all the way. Leafs first scored on two unfortunate bounces. Matthews scored a good one, though: he blocked a shot by a partner with his skate. Holtby had dived to make the save, so after that it was easy to send the puck into the wide open net. As for their fourth goal, it was with the extra attacker, so that was a kind of PPG. Nothing impressive at all in that game. It looked more like a 5-2 win by the Caps.
