Re: ECSF Game 7 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

They didn't play their game after giving up a goal. That's the problem. They played the Pens' game.

It didn't even look like they could score any goal in the last minutes with Holtby pulled.

It's over. The ugly guys win.

Caps defeated by a weaker team than the one they beat in the first round. sad.gif

Just no consistency in the way they play from period to period, and game to game.

I think Trotz may get the axe, but we shall see.

Terrible game from Ovechkin (again).

I hope the Cup goes to a western team this year.

It was fun to watch these playoffs with you, Roger!

We love the game, but we wish our team won a second round once in a while. Some shitty teams have won the Cup, and the Caps are still trying. sad.gif

#Caps are the 2nd franchise in NHL history to be shut out 3 times in Game 7s, joining the Jets/Coyotes

I think Trotz has done a great job.

It may be time to let a few vets go (Williams, Orpik) and the Caps should still be OK next season. They may actually be better once there is not as much pressure on them. Crazy that the pressure was on the contender, and not on the defending champion.

About Trotz, though: the new lines worked in the last game, but it was necessary to go back to the usual lines in this game. He didn't. Not even after the Caps gave up a goal, then a second one.
