I know this for a fact Coast pngeans are very racists towards us Africans especially the Hulas. I once shook a coast lady hand, she wiped her hands off immediately after wards. I went to Alatu and coast people called me the nasty N****** word right off the blue. One coastal lady told me her parents would kill her if she dated a African man. Why is it that PNG coastal are racists towards us Africans? Did one African man or woman leave a bad impression in PNG? Is it that disturbing too look a African man in the eye?

Mate, people in png both coastals and highlanders are nice, but with so much diversity there are ill-feelings against one another. There is one general stereotype in PNG and that is...Coastals see Highlanders as primitives, violent, backward people. But the highlanders have proven beyond any reasonable doubt that they are smart, intelligent, civilised, etc etc group of people and they have...(again beyond any reasonable doubt) outplayed the coastals in education, politics, and business. Now the highlanders are reaching out to the world working in Australia, American, Europe, and Africa. Coastal girls (especially from the Papuan region) are now running after highlands men. You see this all over Port Moresby. There are also many examples of groups not liking each other, like the Taris dont like the Goilalas, and they have clashed time and time again. History also shows that the Bouganvilleans dont like other PNGneans and calls us RED SKINS...
Now the Hula folks may not like you for many reasons but your origin or skin color may have been used as an excuse. There are many coastal Papuans married to Bouganvilleans who are just as dark as you and they are usually not called ******. A few years ago, an African political science professor at UPNG criticised the PNG government. While at the traffic light in Boroko, someone in the next car shouted.."****** go back to Africa." Its funny how many PNGneans see other black people as black or call them ****** when they themselves are black. Many central people are also ethnocentric and often feel that since they have lighter complexion they are better than the rest of PNGneans. This is the kind of stereotype views that many polynesians also hold of Melanesians. I would argue that its only human to be racist or ethnocentric but to express them towards others in such a manner only turns back the clock many hundered years. I am nonetheless happy that more and more PNGneans are becoming tolerant and accepting of others. So my African brother, do not let your bad encounter with few PNGneans ruin your stay in PNG. There are many good people out there who will embrace you as a human and one of them.

It is sad to hear that you have not been accepted by people in those places. You need to reflect inorder to see why this is happening. You have not told us about your physical appearance, or the approach you took when communicating with them. Generally speaking people from those areas you mention are very kind and sociable. Maybe your physical appearance must have frightened the daylights out of them.

I'm not talking about systematic weapon of mass destruction. Good social life, an growing economy, beautiful people, innovating culture and need I say more?

At least in my country our women do not whore there bodies out to expat men. Just for a measly visa, I see this happen way too much in PNG especially in the coastal regions.
