Sepiks are in Name Only....they have no Substance

Travelled on the Sepik highway recently. When we came past villages, the local guide boasted, "Oh thats David Nelson's place". A few miles later "oh thats this guys place", and "oh this is this guy's village" so he continued. So I said how all this bigshots and there is nothing...not even a good house they built in their village like the Tolais or the Highlanders? Then the guide dropped his head in embarrashment without a word and murmured " we Sepiks will never build Sepik, Wewak or even PNG. Look at us, we can't even build a decent house to live in" he said. For a Sepik to admit this speaks volumes for our current leaders.

Sepiks are Leaders at all levels

Sepiks are leaders at all levels whether it be Academics, Politics, Criminals, or even inside prison systems. I have been to some remote parts of PNG and sad to say there is a Sepik there leading or been look up to for leadership role.

Proud to be a Sepik currently leaving overseas and making a mark in the global scene.

Those sepiks who worship the ground the Somare clan stands on a nothing but mortals whose days are numbered. there are good sepiks out there who earn their living in a honest & decent manner unlike Somare & cohorts.

To categorise all sepiks into 1 basket is outrageuos. PNG has crooks all over from various clans, tribes and regions its not just the sepiks. the sepiks who are gaining support at the moment from the somare regime should be ashamed of themselves. i know some of those people recently appointed to various posts simply don't have what it takes to lead an organisation - these appointments were certainly not based on merits whatsoever.

Voters should blame themselves!

I'm happy living & working outside of PNG and I'm not from sepik but I do know a few sepiks who work hard and honestly for their living.

Maski long bagarapim nem bilong olgeta sepiks just for the fun of it.

Sepik is one of the poorest province in the country. they dont contribute muct to the National GDP and are a great user of PNG's Wealth. I other words they are parasites...the only thing that Sepik is rich for is corrupt leaders and criminals who contribute a big share to the law and order problems of this country. If I was a Sepik, bai mi sem lo stap olsem wanpla Sepik...I'd kill myself...Thank God I'm NOT!!!....But I will still suffer as long as the Sepiks are in control...(Sigh)....

There are good sepiks and bad sepiks. Somare is a thief and those who support are crooks just like any other people group. I find many sepiks generally speaking untrustable especially in the work-place. They loud mouth their way in the top, but once they are in the engine room, they are the most useless, unproductive leaders you can ever find. Over 40yrs and Sepik has not developed, what happen? What kind of leadership are you talking about? Never once have other people become the slaves of Sepiks. A true leader is a slave of the people whom they represent, always putting himself last, and operating in the likes of the majority, for greater consensus, peace, justice and love.

YOUR VIEW ON LEADERSHIP

No score for this post
November 12 2008, 9:56 AM

Traveller

Just going through what you said and it seems to me that you think that all leaders need to have big massive homes as a sign of leadership and development.

Are you saying that leaders have to show of their personal wealth as a sign that their province is developed !

If you meant the whole village then I can see some of what you are on about, but to imply that because one big shot doesnt show of his wealth makes him a bad leader shows that you value materialism/cash as a sign of development.

Politicians who haven't brought development to their villages may be the best of them all. True nationalists think of nation first and special interests (such as their blood relatives, clan or village) second.

In other countries, whenever politicians are nationalist, they create opportunities for more development. I think its because moving the nation forward provides opportunities for everyone whereas moving your village or clan forward as first priority often involves nothing more than shifting wealth inside the country rather than creating new opportunities.

I would be most suspicious of those of our leaders whose villages show lots of wealth. its an indication of how selfish they are and probably corrupt-helping their people at the expense of the nation and its citizens overall.

My opinion tasol.

well observer until then shut the hell up and stop complaining like little babies. for christ sake us sepiks were born and raise to be mighty people in the world. and when i mean mighty i mean, leaders, advisers, scholars, professors and the list goes on. so next time people start talking about us sepiks and how come we never put up good houses in our homes like the highlanders and tolais are doing think again people, we sepik spend money for a good cause. we dont need to put up good houses in our villiages. why the hell do we want to that. what is there to proof. we arnt show offs. people in the villiage dont give a fck if u have a good home. wanem u tasol gat gutpela haus fcking idiot. as long as we know where we come from, who we are we dont need to prove it.

for the sepik here is something for us to dwell on:

some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em.

The Governor Wenge is currently the full back for Somare on the floor of parliament (sometimes he shoots off which makes the Somare's not to trust him.
Timothy Bonga is also currently Somare's big Baby he cries to Mama Veronica when the Papa and the Mobs lock him out on a DEAL.
Sasa Zibe is the most stupid Health Minister on record, he disguise himself as a customers looking for snake vernom and forgot to improve rural health services not to mention the K1m he said was sitting in the Trust Account which he later corrected his statement after getting blasted by Somare that most of the K1m was already paid out to their cronies and NA Mps so he reduced the figure.
Bob Dadae the defence Minister is the quitest one very scared to make any radical move to improve the defence force he just sits and lets the Comander take overseas trips and sponsoring Australia Agenda make believe that downsize of defence force is the only way PNG will get better not forgetting the outstanding entitlements of the poor servicemen some has already lost their lives.
Morobe is not strategicly possitioned the Sepiks know how to screw the Morobeans. Recently Arthur sacked the IPBC Chairman Somase Singin, now if those Morobeans in the Cabinet and the bulldog TB can stand together and fight back to retain the IPBC Chairman after his sacking then Morobe can be a force to be recon with. Anyway Somase Singin, lets say if you throw your dog out the fench then the dog will have no way to go it will hang around the fench waiting for the master to open the gate to let him in and thats Mr Singin.
SORI TRU MOROBE, KAIKAI BOL BLO SOMARE YET - as the wanker says..........
